AutoLoader

What is the longest parcel size AutoLoader can handle?

The standard recommended parcel profile is up to 400 × 400 × 400 mm with a maximum weight of 5 kg.
Larger parcels may be possible, but this must be reviewed and aligned separately based on the specific application, parcel behaviour, and loading conditions.
The solution is suitable for parcels, polybags, and paper envelopes within the approved specifications.

How does AutoLoader handle large parcels?

During the loading process, larger parcels are placed in available positions on the trailer floor in a controlled manner, before the system continues loading the remaining area.
Large parcels must remain within the defined maximum allowed parcel profile, and the parcel flow must be singulated to ensure stable and predictable placement. Bulk or clumped parcels are not accepted.

What is the general AutoLoader fill level?

AutoLoader typically loads parcels up to approximately 75–80% of the available internal trailer or container height, depending on the parcel mix and trailer geometry.

Can Caljan AutoLoader handle a mix of sizes, weights, parcel types, and unstable parcel flow?

Yes, AutoLoader can handle a mixed parcel flow as long as the flow is singulated and within the recommended parcel specifications.
Bulk flow, clumped parcels, or uncontrolled infeed are not accepted, as AutoLoader relies on controlled, single‑piece parcel presentation for stable and predictable loading.
Energy‑saving functions help optimise operation during fluctuating or irregular parcel flow.

What is the average AutoLoader throughput?

AutoLoader throughput may vary depending on the speed of the feeding system, but in general, it is around 3,500 parcels per hour.

AutoUnloader

What is the safety approach for AutoUnloader?

All Caljan products comply with Machinery Directives and have CE certification. The AutoUnloader is equipped with various safety features to ensure a secure unloading area for both staff and unloaded cargo.

Does the AutoUnloader handle irregularly shaped parcels?

Yes, it handles most irregular shapes well, including polybags, paperbags, returns, heavy, light, long and in general odd-size parcels. Items like cylinders or football-shaped parcels can present some challenges.

Do I need a specific type of trailer for AutoUnloader?

The AutoUnloader is applicable to various trailer and swap body sizes. It is typically suited for 12m (40 ft), 13m (45 ft), and 16m (53 ft) long trailers. The length of the AutoUnloder floor can be adjusted.

What is the average throughput of AutoUnloader?

AutoUnloader throughput may vary depending on the size of the vehicle and capacity of following system. For a 40 ft trailer, in fully automatic mode it is around 5000 parcels per hour, for semi-automatic – around 2000 parcels per hour.

Caljan BulkLoader

What types of parcels can the Bulkloader handle?

The Bulkloader is designed to handle a wide variety of parcel sizes and shapes, including parcels, polybags, cartons, and small items. Its even distribution system prevents damage and ensures smooth handling across mixed loads.

How does BulkLoader improve efficiency?

By tripling buffer capacity compared to standard store feed systems, the Bulkloader allows operators to start later and still hit throughput targets. This flexibility optimizes workflow, reduces idle time, and helps maintain productivity during peak periods.

Caljan Classic

What safety features are standard on the Classic?

Safety is built into every aspect of the Classic. Fully enclosed under‑guards protect moving parts, while an anti‑collision strip stops the conveyor on contact. Pop‑out rollers and underside covers eliminate pinch points, and a failsafe safety PLC integrates emergency stops and hydraulic safety features. The design meets CE standards with gap protection and drum‑guard wedges for maximum operator security.

How quickly can I see ROI with Caljan Classic?

Most clients experience ROI quickly due to the 50% reduction in the truck loading/unloading time, reduced labour requirements, and improved operational efficiency. The exact timeframe depends on your current throughput and operational costs.

How is the Classic engineered for durability under tough duty?

Built for demanding environments, the Classic handles loads up to 50 kg per meter with smooth, FI‑controlled drives. Belt speeds are optimized for workflow efficiency, and components are specified to withstand temperatures from 0–40 °C and humidity up to 85%. With multiple section configurations reaching up to 16 meters, the Classic delivers strength and flexibility for any loading dock.

Can Caljan Classic be integrated with the existing bag handling system?

Caljan Robotic Collaboration

Can existing conveyors be upgraded later with a robotic interface?

Yes, a robotic interface can be installed on already operating Caljan telescopic conveyors.

Can the telescopic conveyor be used with operators for freight that the robots don’t handle?

Yes, there will be a key switch on the cabinet with two modes: robot and Caljan (manual) mode. This allows maximum flexibility for truck loading and unloading at the door.

What is the typical unloading rate for the telescopes with robotic collaboration?

The average trailer unloading rate is around 600–800 parcels per hour, but it can be adjusted to align with the robot’s unloading speed.

Can telescopic conveyors with robotic systems handle polybags?

Yes, Caljan conveyors are suitable for polybags, parcels, and envelopes of various sizes and weights. Polybag handling is dependent on the robotic technology used. To find the solution that fits your needs, apply for a free consultation with our product experts.

Are safety functions the same in both modes?

Yes, safety functions remain identical in both Caljan and robotic mode. All emergency stops are active at all times, ensuring operator safety.

How much energy does the robotic panel consume?

The robotic panel draws power from the facility’s main supply, pausing only when the telescopic conveyor is in motion. This ensures optimised energy use during operation.

How are robotic systems installed on telescopic conveyors?

The robot supplier equips the Caljan telescopic conveyor with a control panel and all essential devices. These are connected to the Caljan control panel through cables, ensuring consistent performance.
