Hermes Germany GmbH, specialists in deliveries to private homes, have asked Caljan Rite-Hite to supply hundreds of Telescopic Conveyors to their Bluefield project. Extending into 2019, the agreement covers hubs and depots throughout Germany. The first 64 Telescopic Conveyors will be installed later this year.
This investment is part of the 300 million euro development plan Hermes announced in 2014. Caljan Telescopic Conveyors will be installed at several hubs including the 10,000 square meter logistics centre currently being built in Bad Rappenau, halfway between Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Opening in March 2017, the facility will be able to handle 200,000 shipments a day. The Otto Group, which includes Hermes, have used Caljan Telescopic Conveyors to load and unload shipments since 1993.
– Hermes facilities manage warehousing, shipping and returns. 99% of shipments are delivered on time. To maintain this impressive result, every phase of the delivery must be able to cope with the rapidly growing volume. Caljan Telescopic Conveyors are used to move parcels in and out of vehicles swiftly and with no damage to parcel content, explains Peter Elbaek, General Manager at Caljan Rite-Hite GmbH
The size of this order firmly confirms Caljan Rite-Hite’s position as market leader in Germany.
