The principles: how Caljan Belt Telescopic Conveyors function
Use Telescopic Conveyors to make unloading quicker and easier
Whether you use vans, 40 ft containers — or anything in between — there is a Caljan Belt Telescopic Conveyor that matches your needs.
Installed just behind the leveller, Caljan Belt Telescopic Conveyors reach inside the vehicle, making the task of loading or unloading parcels and other loose-loaded cargo, much easier than if a Telescopic Conveyor was not used. The Telescopic Conveyor comprises a number of steel sections, one built inside the other and stored in a base section. This means that the Telescopic Conveyor doesn't occupy a great deal of space, when not in use.
When the vehicle to be unloaded pulls up to the door, the operator extends the belt Telescopic Conveyor to the required length and moves the cargo (sacks, boxes, tyres etc.) onto the conveyor belt, using very little effort. As the Telescopic Conveyor extends, all sections gradually move out until the Conveyor is fully extended. This makes the transition from section to section incredibly strong.
Caljan Telescopic Conveyors can be used with any vehicle size
When loading, the process is reversed. As the vehicle fills up, the operator retracts the Telescopic Conveyor to an appropriate length by pressing the joystick or smartpad. The sections slide into each reducing the total length of the Telescopic Conveyor. When the vehicle is completely filled, the whole of the conveyor is neatly concealed inside the base section.
Caljan Telescopic Conveyors can be used at dual purpose doors
At no point during the loading or unloading process is the Telescopic Conveyor in contact with the floor of the vehicle. The whole unit is suspended from the base section, which is firmly fixed to the floor of the facility.
Caljan Telescopic Conveyors can be mobilized, i.e. fitted on castors or rail tracks, so they can be moved away from the door to allow forklift trucks to move palletized goods.
All Caljan Telescopic Conveyors can be custom-built to suit your specific needs by adding optional functions.
