What safety standards apply to conveyors in the offloading area of the loading bay?

The major safety standard that applies to conveyors used to move unit loads is  EN619; Continuous Handling Equipment and Systems – Safety and EMC Requirements for Equipment for Mechanical Handling of Unit Loads. This stipulates that pinch areas must be no more than 5 mm and that underguarding is required on all conveyors with moving parts.

As safety standards published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) are revised periodically we would suggest that you download the most recent from your national standards organisation.
